Abnormal post

Yes it is colour film and everything. Developed commercially and taken with an old Agfa Record camera of some vintage. Found the roll of film lurking so I thought I'd use it up. This here being the Glen road by the village here.

I'll stick to B&W I think

Artists

There has been a wonderful Artist trail round our bit of the island put together by the lovely Gill Thompson an artist in her own right.

I called in on co-villager Tom Hickman at his lovely wee housie [soon to be seen on the TV  ] and studio by the sea. I took his likeness into my camera again and these are those likenesses.

Angela

Angela was a racing cyclist and a front line NHS worker. Currently she has long covid and we send our love and best wishes to her.

These were not her racing bikes :-)

Local supergroup

The magnificent MotherNight at their recent soiree at an Lanntair arts centre. A musical delight if I may say so.

Local on a bike

Some clad in lycra and others not. All riding bikes so that must be be good. The more on bikes the better.

More locals

Our village resident musician Willie Campbell on the left seen here enjoying the outside concert at an Lanntair at Pride week. No, he was not a bouncer in case the two protesters - probably from the Free Church or its associates - got out of hand.

Not forgotten

Sorry, was late today. Very late. Wrong ype of cheese on the toast etc.

Anyway, from a couple of days back when Eve and I toured Point for a day's on-island holiday. The weather was, and here I quote Eve, "Overcast but bright, windy with strong gusts." A summers day here.

I snapped Eve on this little pier oop top end of Point, opposite Tolsta o'er the bay.

I used HP5 even though I thought I had 100 asa film loaded. Shot it at 50asa and guessed the Rodinal development .

Abstract exorealism

My true love - mostly anyway; when I'm not in love with something else. Not sure why these snap do it for me to be honest but I do like them. I like the way I am not really sure how they will appear, what they mean - if anything or whether anyone else likes them. It doesn't really matter to me who likes them other than me since I'm not trying to sell them rather, I seek to express myself through the medium of the film image.

Why?

Because I can.

Cuba

Eve bought a hat just like that in Cuba. Loved the hat but despite the sun shining and us going 'out with ladies who lunch' Eve won't be wearing it since it has disappeared.

We loved Cuba, such a welcoming and interesting place. Wonderful people and landscape. No, it's not perfect but where is?

The old barn

Peigi's family's old barn is beside her house - also built by her family up in the north of the island. Obviously the original house was a blackhouse but now a more modern affair.

Keith's foster mum

Keith the cat, the lovely happy furry little beast prone to jumping on the bed in the middle of the night, was previously fostered by Peigi here. Peigi here was supervising Eve's planting of flowers in her little garden at Ness.

Keith was taken in after a sojourn as he became homeless and then injured. Peigi kindly took him in but failing eyesight meant a new home was required. Keith [aka PussPuss] came here and we made a new friend in Peigi. I must do a nice snap of lovely Peigi when we visit next.

So, 34,

Yep Mr Cavendish wins the 34th TDF stage of his career. Superb work Sir. Can he make it 35? He is one pf the best road sprinters in the world already. Merckx won a lot of stages but some of those were time trials. Cippollini won more Grand Tour stages than the lot of them though.

Sorry about yesterday, I was out experiencing the loveliness that is Mothernight at an Lanntair arts centre. Catch him if you can.

The elephant in the room

Yes, I know we are all talking about it, thinking about it and everything. But I'll not mention it here in case it all falls apart. The UK will be so very proud if it happens. The streets will erupt with glee.

Come on Cav !!!

Lochen life

Those there flowery water-liking plants have shown their little heads again. This is a local Lochen down by Garry beach captured for posterior :-) by the Minolta A3 camera.

On the street

Was out and about with the old Minolta A3 1955 camera and some more the seemly endless Polypan-f film I have. It was well worth it.

Especially good was the An Lanntair out door  pride concert. Very good too. Thanks very much indeed An Lanntair.

'ave bin oop 'ere

I like it there. Used to be rabbits everywhere but then, just like that they went. Now they are on their way back. Lovely.

They weren't here this day, the day I have the old Zorki camera with a Soviet 35mm lens.

Sausage

It's busy in Stormoway at the moment. Saw this slavering beast hunkering down as if sheltering from the bitter wind. The doggie that is.

And the nights are closing in.
