Gaiole

That trip.
What a fab time we had.

Then

When the world was looking at the oil rig that crashed onto the island and then was floated round to the bay nearby where it sat sitting for a few months till they put it on a special boat thing and took to somewhere in the Med to break it up. That time.

Boating

We used to go boating but now the little sailing tub has gone to new owners. This wasn't it but on a hired boat on the Caledonian canal. Lovely

Down by Law

Loved that film. In fact anything by Jim Jarmusch or Tom Waits is fine by me.  But this snap is of the lovely Island Darkroom Mhairi Law whom I must have snapped up years ago. I glad I did, I rather like it.
And while you are here check out Mhairi's work. Oh, and Katie Macleod-Harris whose work I love too

William

Love this snap of William taken a few years back when he took us for a windy stroll near his home. We still see William and Gemma regularly which is just lovely.

Seem to recal using the old Zorki6 for this, must get the old thing [camera that is] out again.

Spainland

Ooooof. the Tour of Spainland race has just been happening - and what a great race it was. We went over a couple of times in previous years to catch up with people we knew who were involved the race as riders or DS.

One day we stood here for a while. It wasn't always as quiet as this. Did you see how one hill was in the tdf ? This lot will be at the World cycling champs in Yorkshire soon - perhaps we will find them!

Three cyclists

This may have been 2011 but they all still ride. Mr Gilbert [right] is on the mainland now riding fixed again. Mr Posse [left] is married and will visit again soonish and Eve has a new bike - not just Mr Posse's retro bike to ride.

two wires

Wires are all over the place here. Part of the island-scapes like bins and falling down houses. As such, I am rather pleased when they appear in the snap. This is out South-Lochs way.

Dreams of escape

Found this delightful scene in a village called Drongan, in Ayrshire.  Victor and his artist wife Gwynneth live near here.

Papa in law

Not mine but The Crofter's aka Paul Rowlston who resides along with his family and other animals down the road here.

Ooof, had a fine evening at an Lanntair last night watching Caught in this moment of time by Ron Coleman. What a great play it was. We didn't know what to expect but it was fantastic. The play, the music and the positive feelings that were throughout the place. Were were all buzzing and am so looking forward to the next two.

fishing

Apparently, they can take one, yes one fish a year home. I suppose this gathering is more of a support group than anything. In Inverness and everything.

Going to see Caught in this moment of time by Ron Coleman tonight. looking forward to it.

The Viking

I hadn't seen Keith the Viking and his wife Liz for a while but I was so pleased to see them playing sheeps-herders with their Icelandic sheeps on their croft in Lemerway.  I snapped them up again just for the plleasure of doing it.

darling Eve

Eve has retired now. Can you tell?

One of my "don't show that to anyone" series. :-)

Not sure what's happened here but I seem to have a run of human landscape snaps.

island binscape

I'm rather partial to binscapes - especially island ones. I shall have to specialise - along with my weeding snaps. apologies to those who thought this period was over!

Not sure if anyone is looking at this blog these days but II enjoy doing it all the same.

Weeding redux

Oh, that last snap. I'll be printing that one a lot I guess.

Since this was meant to be a photoblog I can just remember that the first two snaps were taken on a Minolta 505si with 50mm lens and the last, obviously a masterpiece in a Perkeo with Foma100 film. Oh, I feel better now
