Retiring

Yes it's that old snap of me again. I like it and thought it might rest at the top of the blog for a while.

I'm physically falling apart here so am taking a rest for a while to see if I can get sorted.

Thanks for your visitations all these years.

Eve's birthday

Keith's present to Eve - taking her for a stroll down the road. What a good boy.

Lets see how it goes

Not feeling my best at present so sullying this blog with some pixels captured with an old Canon g10 I happen to have,

The best behaved dogs in the village await.

Sun Eh?

Ooof, there they are. The Toots two. Have not seen much of them recently what with everything and everything. Hopefully, that will change in the near future.

Another snap from the cheap camera / film combo that only works in bright light yet hates sunshine. How does that work then?

cheap

Cheap Viv wide and slim camera [paid 50p for it years ago] and cheaper Polypan--f film.

Bad phone snap of print

Yes, yes, it's sort of ok.

Looks grey on the edges but isn't. I don't hold out much hope for this new digi technology I used to snap up the snap.

I looked in the darkroom. That was a mistake

I'm suffering from post-printing fatigue now. I shouldn't have stayed that long as I can hardly exit the place with the wasted paper piled up !

Of course I have little to show for it? What do you take me for?

And no I cannot it show it here - they are wet.

I'll show you a self portrait from way back when. I called this one "Regression". However, it's a long time ago and I don't look this good now.

Twas a paper neg [Kentmere Art] in an old folder camera then printed in enlarger. It's a fav.

Nice stroll

Spent half the day watching the Paris-nice bike race on the pooter after seeing the finish of the GP JP Monsere. Then took a lovely stroll with Eve round the village.

We know how to live eh?

and then the wheel fell off

Not the first case of this I have seen here. Must be the sea air and everything.

Nick Hedges

Another wonderful documentary photographer worth a looksee here.

I cannot offer anything so excellent but here is a wall in the village so you don't have to bother to come and look yourself.

Through here

I've been venturing out on the bicycle again - now the wind has dropped and it's not snowing or raining. We didn't cycle through here but you never know I might while on the other side of the island in better times.

Of course, I took it with the Bronnie. But you knew that.

Copyright; J Ravilious

This is not my snap but that by the late James Ravilious. I think you'll agree it is superb and worth seeing.

I cannot recommend Mr Ravilious' work enough. Go take a look and perhaps acquire a book.

If I could make one image in my life just half as good as this I would be happy indeed.

Please; who are your favs?

It's been Wednesday all week.

No, of course it's not recent. I have not been anywhere for ages. The threat of.... etc.

But I did snap this Fankenstein some years ago. Must have been a nice day too. Back in the day when I felt that Fanks for the memory was a great title for a series of snaps - never fully realised.

I like titles - they make a full realisation of a snap or series.

Thankfully there's some excellent professional cycle racing to watch while the wind howls here.
