lockdown Toots

Toots is well and busy with creative things I'm told as we called over the garden wall the other day. Painting, drawing and what have you, Mr Toots has been a lockdown revelation and I am very impressed.

I'm trying too but my creative juices have dried somewhat. My painting efforts are pathetic and drawing even more so despite the enthusing of Grayson Perry on TV at the moment.

I have completed a few daubs and I was going to show you them here. But I don't know how to. You could try here for one or two. You won't be staying there long so don't worry :-(

Cycling

I love cycling. Did you know that?
Not that I do much these day due to a myriad of ailments and whingitis. I did go out on Eve's lovely e road bike the other day and that really pleased me. I might well do that again as my ebike is hopeless.

It should have been the early stages of the Giro D'Italia this weekend but that's been put off till October this year - if it happens at all. The trouble is that it's difficult to keep spectators apart - as well as the the riders and officials that traipse around the country. Eve at the Tour of Yorkshire it gets busy.

Wonderful to see that many people appreciate the joys of cycling these days. Hopefully this will continue as we continue to use our cars less.

Vans

No campers here on the island at the moment. Bliss. For us anyway. Ferries won't bring visitors over till the plague has eased somewhat. This ere one was in Yorkshire at the Tour of Yorkshire - where else? In 2017. I think they may have been English.

Having said that, we do like to visit places ourselves. Why wouldn't one want to be here - paying homage to the wonderful Fay Godwin who I know snapped up here - as I saw it in a film of her. Lovely part of Assynt. Tis just o'er the water from here and we can espy the mountains on a good day.

Oh no !

Yes, again.
At least I manage to get out of bed and do summut. It's very tempting to stay all cosied up in a duvet tickling Keith Akabilly from time to time. But I didn't. The walk of the day happened and Keith came along with us. Lovely - although it does make for a slow stroll I can tell you. He likes to investigate every knook and cranny along the way.

The Bronica came along too and that's why we have a few Keith cattraits.

Hard to ignore what's going on at the moment. I do hope you are all well and keeping calm and content.

The road where we live

Just here is the stroll down the road to the sea from home. It's been so lovely, so lovely and quiet too.

It's brutal

Really enjoying my village strolls at the moment. The weather is good and that helps, not least because I can use the reinvigorated Vivitar UW&S "camera" and the cheap polypan pan film with print developer. What's not to like eh?

WARNING ! Cat snap

Keith Akabilly surveys his house and gets ready to get his servants out of bed.

Sorry about the snap, Keith made me take it.

walkies with camera

Walkies. Every day as it happens. Down round the village and yes, once or twice in the next village too. Since I am a cheapskate and, the sun is still shining despite the cool wind, I too the Viv UW&S loaded with Polypan-f.

A bit like Cuba [almost. if you squint and imagine 20c warmer]

We loved Cuba. The visit we had there some years ago was terrific - staying in people's houses with them under some scheme or other going at the time. The people are lovely, the place very safe and calm without all the hassle one usually gets. I'd happily visit again - if it wasn't for the distance one has to go to get there.

I see as in the case with the Ebola epidemic, Cubans have been sent to help less fortunate countries with their Covid19 problems. And they took in a Cruise ship with Covid19 patients that had been barred from other regional ports. Yes they have had infections on the island I read but as yet it seems to be under control. We wish them well and hope they fare better than others.

A post

Still here, still taking a stroll every day and still taking local snaps. I should imagine it's the same with you wherever you are.

I have been thinking about the possibility of considering making a plan to put together an idea for something creative. I might get round to that anyway.
