We remember peat-cutting when living on Skye. Hard(ish) graft with more to follow in the stacking/drying process then yet again getting them home. The smell of the fire is lovely though we always felt a bit more heat might have been welcome!

Iain...it all depends on the type of peatbank you have. The blacker stuff gives off more heat than the lighter coloured peat.
