been playing in the cold dark room

I did have fun - for a few moments till the cold got to me. It was snowing at the time.

I wonder

I wonder if we will see some of this soon.

I wrote this two days ago and yesterday it snowed. Just a little be enough to make the ground white hereabouts in the village. Then the sun shone and most of it melted.

Snow is lovely to see and photograph. I dream of the day my best photograph will be made on the snowy day.

Bible black

Dylan Thomas might not have classed this as Bible Black but it was dark. Dark dark if you know what I mean. In the daytime - although it felt like night as the cold damp wind whistled round my ears threatening to whip of my hat into the Minch o'er the dunes.

I enjoyed the stroll behind the waving marram grass along the winding path. And back again. It threatened rain but gave hail in the end.

cheddar yeo

It's not all cheese you know.
Have you been there?
The caves ,the crowds and not forgetting the gorge which has a tough road for cycling through it.

ooof

Have I spelt Ooof correctly? Does it have more or less 'o's ? Not sure and I wouldn't want to get it wrong - especially since it's my fav word at the moment.

Anyway, this snap deserves an Ooof whether it's 2,3 or 4 'o's.

Keith

It's no good mumbling that you didn't want a cat snap to look at. This is Keith, hiding from the lens of the Minolta A3 and a flash. Don't blame him really.

check

Just checking you know what sheeps look like. They look like this - or at least these do, on a sunny day. This is The Sunny Day we had last year. Or so it seems anyway.
It might stop raining soon. Before it snows again anyway.
I sneaked this little snap with me old Zorki6. Eh?

Bother !

It was drying but fell on the floor - which despite the floor being almost sterile [it was brushed this year anyway] collected dust. Hopefully, when fully dry it will brush off!

Anyway an Ilfobrom gd 3 print of a 6x6 neg. Toned a bit with sepia.

Of course

Of course I went in the darkroom. This was one of those prints - although print re-snapped with Eve's phone and re-aligned for here. On Kentmere Vc if you are interested.

Twas from a 6x4.5 neg which must have been from a long gone camera. Still, it's ok.

I snucked some more prints out at Toots' on Forte FB but you'll have to wait to see those. Oh, and some I did Sunday at home on Ilford FB Ilfobrom Grd3 - which you will have to wait for as well. It's a minor hoolie at the mo so I'm not sneaking out there again today - and the snaps need toning.

My lovely Valentine

The most wonderful and lovely Eve, here exiting the sea with Mr Windy after a bracing swim. Eve has spent the last twenty years or so with me and I am so very happy about this as she makes life so wonderful and puts up with my whinging.
She is the most wonderful valentine i could imagine being part of my life and I love her so very much.

I shall be 'doing' this

I'm going in darkroom soon. I mean, I may well have been in the darkroom already - with this neg. Trying to do something interesting with the neg like this digi knock off.

A wee breeze

As I write there's a wee breeze again today. And hail, and snow on the way I believe. I don't care to be honest. Not on working shift this week, no need to rush around, I can just take a little snap indoors and then disappear into the darkroom - or not.

I have just found this old seascape [sorry and all that] snap from 2011 taken on the Perkeo at the big beach.

Have a look here, I did.

a flowery thing

See. A tulip thing. Red and white. In black and white with a touch of brown.
I was playing in the Warming Room, next to the Raeburn as the wind howled and the rain lashed outside. Using some old Ilford RC as a neg and developed in the darkroom [via outside] . Here above shown as a digitally inverted and slightly coloured positive.

Not the usual view of a tulip I must say. Not sure John Blakemore would approve. I was using the FKD 'camera' that came via a good pal in Azerbaijan. It has no shutter, no anything much and mine is held together with elastic bands and gaffer tape. I stuck a 2x close-up lens over the lens to get closer and to be honest, I rather like the effect.

The neg is almost as nice - below.

Grain

I had an issue the other evening. The development of the film was less than accurate so this Kentmere400@800 came out a tad grainy in Bellini Hydrofen. I rather like it all the same. It has, i think, a nice mood about it; for a grasscape.

trolley time

It wasn't a Sunday so there were golfers out spoiling their walk round the castle grounds.

Stormy day; the day after

A storm passed though violently but quickly earlier in the week. The ferries and what have you all stopped, fishing boats sheltered in the bay here and the seagulls tied their sou-westers on. We stayed home for the day.
The next day it was lovely so we took ourselves out for a wee strollete to see if the sea survived it all. It had.

I am pleased

I think I like this snap taken just a few yards from home and depicting Storm and his pet human.

Just   as well since I am feeling a tad sluggish at the moment. My muscles are less than accommodating whilst my whinge factor has ramped up to eleven.

When one has been off the rock for a few days and feel the need to see if the sheeps are happy.

The sheeps were fine. Looking as happy as the white furry ones ever do.

At least they have their very own interesting landscape to look at and play in.

I feel better now I see nothing has changed.

Portrait

It's a lovely place here and the people in there are really interesting - although less 'interesting' than the people in the National Gallery in the same city. Why? No idea.

The formers cafe is better too and I think the exhibitions are as well. The building at the Portrait is definitely the  nicest in my 'umble opinion.

It's only a place

Look, see?
That's the place we went to. And another place as it happens. Rode on a train and everything. To the other place, and back again.

But this place was the bestist. The most lovely. Even when it's shot with an XA and Polypan-f.

frocks

No I didn't buy one. Nor did Eve. In fact we barely looked at them just passed by and I took a sneaky snap with the XA.

Anyway, that's where we've been and everything. Seeing some lovely peeps, doing our thing and seeing stuff.

I came back with few snaps. My heart wasn't in it. I'm not city personised any more. I see things better in the countryside - when it's not raining and the wind not howling.

Went to a lovely artists gathering last night. Great talks by painters, writers and instalationists plus some fine music by Stephen and Urpeth. Oh, we know how to live on this island !
