In an Italian bar

Can hardly remember what it's like to be in a bar, let alone an Italian one.
Cafe's yes, we have them here although crowded with visitors at the moment - especially as the rain falls as it does now.
I like the cafe for meeting folk as there always someone one knows in whatever cafe you visit here. Maybe it's the people I know......

You're right about knowing people in cafés. I don't go in bars any more. Mentioning Italy has made me wistful. The last time I spent time in an Italian café/bar I was staying with a childhood friend living in Canada, her friend (whom I'd known since teenage years) and her daughters in a villa in the commune of Radicondoli, in the Province of Sienna. Now both friends have passed on.
