Ohhhhh, where to start? Your horizons highlight the fundamental fact that the earth is not flat. When you photograph people we don’t know what they are doing because they are specialists and we are not, thus highlighting their skills over ours. You are sensitive to the fact that not all animals feel photogenic so spare them their blushes by showing them from behind. You portray the manic pace of life so sensitively that to us who are sitting still looking it is in constant motion. Your architectural studies of bus stops are social documents. Your pictures of phone boxes in unexpected places show the power of classic design and is likely a teaching aid to students everywhere. Sometimes this is accompanied by such a depth of philosophical questioning that it leaves us begging for our armchairs and a two-bag cuppa. You show the meteorological machinations far more clearly than those charts they use on the tele and allow you to exploit every shade of grey those little silver halides were invented for. When you do photograph trash it’s always safely stored in one of your bin-scapes, which we all realise is your ongoing project to get the ‘Keep Lewis Tidy’ gig for the tourist brochure. We aren’t daft! So to summarise, I blinking love coming here to see what you’ve done and what you have to say. It’s a genuine highlight of my days. Thank you. Here’s to many many more. All the very best to you and to your beloved (not me, Eve!) and I hope 2023 brings you all you desire.
When I read your post I thought I should take this opportunity to offer some feedback (I think that is the phrase we creative types are supposed to use. Or is that too 1980s?). Anyway, I was very pleased to see that Harvey has already perfectly assessed your efforts and the reasons why we keep coming back, so thank you Harvey. I really enjoyed that. And thank you to Boxes & Bellows and best wishes to you both.
Happy new year to you and your dear ones, Eve and Keith. This is a refuge of sorts for me to visit daily, and I do visit daily. Your snaps and words are always a welcome sight for the mind and eyes.I dearly love it here. It is a peaceful place and calming, and informative and always fun! Cheers to a new year of love and light and warm times with each other. Hugs from afar. Beck
I'm another daily visitor that looks forward to your peaceful scenes and interesting blurs. And any day with a photo of Keith is an extra special day. :)
