Waters of Leith
The stroll up to the Modern Art Gallery along the Waters of Leith is grand - despite the paths dilapidated state. And the path goes through the lovely Dean Village which I see is a world heritage site. My snap doesn't do it justice but I enjoyed taking it all the same.

Portobello
Waiting for a morsel to drop.
In an interesting pub/cafe in Portobello. We did have a very lovely time on this whole trip as it happens. Saw some fine exhibitions, had some great meals and beer and met plenty of really fine people. what's not to like?

This is Glasgow
Part of Glasgow anyway. took the snap on my ill-fated trip to see a Doc at the hospital there - and the weather turned so the flights home were cancelled that day. I took the liberty of visiting the Necropolis nearby the hospital. What a fascinating place it is - even if you are not overly energised.

Dockside Tap
A visit to the fine if basic Dockside Tap in Leith has got to be done if you like proper beer. This was the fine Brew Toon's Jail Ale.

I don't 'do' twee
I couldn't resist a snap of this little scene on the ferry home though. The pleasure of having a small camera on ones' person - the XA1

the lay of the land
In some place it is like this anyway. In this place actually.
Reminds me of someone photographically proper but I can't think who.

Bus stops here
We do have a wonderful bus service here. If you are not here on a bicycle, you can always get around on the buses. Mostly anyway. And there's often a nice place to await the arrival of said bus.
What with the weather here we do have some wonderfully robust concrete bus shelters that will still be there when humans have gone extinct.

oh. I lithed this
Yes I finally got back into the darkish room for a bit of light darkrooming using Slavich Unibrom. Yes it's an ebike on Procida. I tooked it on Polypan-f. Love this sort of work.

Innovative
An Lanntair thinks I'm innovative. That's nice. Perhaps I was once. Now, I'm predictable.
Here's a flower just to prove my point. Taken in the kitchen with a Minolta af 50/1.7 on Kentmere 400 film rated at 800 and developed in Ilford PQ universal. Because I can.

Awaiting a bit of tlc
Some people think we only have tractors here. There are a few of them and some of them like these are left rotting on the croft awaiting some love.

Stone
Ooof, yes that's a Callanish stone. And a caravan with decrepit house. We have it all here.
This very day I met a man working with a Japanese film crew - looking at the geology of the land. Last time I came across a Japanese film crew they were half asleep in the pub on Easdale island for the World Stone Skimming Champs, having tasted most of the whiskies they had in there.

Horsing about
If you like equestrian things, then a session with Traigh Mhor Pony Trekking might be just up your strasse. Here Kirsty is sorted out the four legged ones ready for an outing.
Oh and I met Ginty again!

Ebike
Just bought the kit to convert my mtb to an ebike. Had a brilliant idea in my quest to get fit again - without killing myself with my less than excellently healthy heart. I shall set the ebike up on the old indoor trainer turbo thing and just set it off to ride 10 miles every day while I sleep. Excellent! Why did I not think of that before?

Not a scape I'm used to
On another note, I seem to have damaged my little [already distorted due to Duprytens ] finger by falling off an ebike yesterday. never to old to do silly things :-(

Glasgow ginnels
Something about these place girds my loin - or something. They are over the place in cities like Glasgow - and Naples although in Naples I felt less safe to be able to snap them up.

Antiquities
No, not a self portrait but a snap from the Archaeological Museum in Naples. Thronged on a Sunday as it was free to enter for everyone.

polypan-f
Yes I still have some of this unknown film left - a few hundred metres of the stuff. It's copy-film apparently and only 50 asa. But here I rated it at 250 asa and developed it in PQ universal. Seems to work ok
The light was just lovely as I strolled just outside the village on this day. Ooof, lovely.

Streart
A little bit of STREet ART from my un-planned stay over in Glasgow recently.
At least I had a camera and film with me. The Minolta 505si and Kentmere 400 film which I sloshed in PQ universal developer.
Nice isn't it?

Il Postino
Have you seen that film Il Postino ? If not you must. It seems it was mainly filmed on the isle of Procida. Of course we went. An expensive and rather unexpected hydrofoil journey took us there where we hired ebikes and toured the small and surprisingly built up island. Looks great at the fishing places though . We had lunch in one such place and then visited a dodgy looking beach where some of the film was filmed. Oh we are such tarts!
Anyway, on the wee road to the beach we saw this fine cemetery - the design of which we don't see too much up here on our island as it would probably be blown away.

Scape of a man
This fine newspaper seller in Naples struck me as rather sophisticated. He kindly agreed that I could steal his likeness into my little camera. I'm glad of that.

I rather like holidays but goodness I've had it with the travelling these days. At Napoli airport I think.

Duchamp?
Not a Marcel Duchamp exhibition but at the entrance to former church / art gallery in Naples housing a Caravaggio.
A nice exhibition that surprisingly held some wonderful contemporary work by Anish Kapoor and others.

Royal Palace, Naples
Former home of the Bourbons - Kings and all that, not biscuits. Now a touristy place complete with dressed up peeps for photo opportunities here resting on the stairs. Huge draughty and dusty rooms not at all homely - a ghastly place to live in I should have thought.

Herculaneum
Oh yes we went to this place - all tumble down after being buried by ash some years back by Mt Vesuvious located nearby. They have dug it out now - well some of it anyway. Eve loved the place - me less so but it was a nice visit all the same and involved a pleasant enough train ride.
I only had the little Olympus Xa with me and a Vivitar UW&S so was rather pleased with this little snap.
