It rained

It rained biblically in some of the places we were while off the rock. here, look.
It rains like that here too - but it looks and feels different don't you know.

Just acquired this fine beast from the year of my birth thereabouts.  feels substantial [read heavy] in the hand but works just lovely - especially when I put some film in it [Kentmere 400 @800] and pointed it at dearest Eve and an almost smiling Toots.

Windy

Did I tell you Mr Windy has left the rock? Well he has and is currently swanning about in Mexico with dear Deanne. Hopefully, the weather should be better than it is here at present.

Here he is, is, is, is, is etc at his ongoing gaff on the Scottish mainland.

Yorkshire 2019.

The World cycling championships don't you know. Lots of races, lot of riders and lots of spectators all over the shoppe. This chap came from Israel to wwatch as riders went past in one of the time trials, listening on his phone between excitments.

Not fully operational

For some reason I seem to be barely operational - at least not at full tilt - or hardly any tilt at all to be honest. Must have been the traffic, all the people, the cyclists and the rain.

Back on the rock now for a few days so recovering with the help of Billy the newly resident cat -whilst Eve pops down south again.

I may have over-egged things a little yesterday

There weren't any cars just here either. Just to Eve's left there were cars but not here.

I have.
Not so keen as it happens. It rains a lot and there are are cars everywhere - except here in this snap. this is the only place where they don't go, trust me.

Hepworth

Hepworth gallery had a couple of visits from us whilst nearby. Terrific cafe with a superb gallery attached. It was so good to be there again I got carried away with the Kodak Cresta camera.

Yes, of course we were at the Yorkshire sculpture park. Why wouldn't we go when we were in the area. Lovely day it was too.  Lots of lovely work including this by Ai weiwei. Twas so good, I took the snap several times before winding the film on.

Yep, snapped this up on a wee trip down to see John Maher in his engine tuning hovel in Obb on Harris. Lovely day, dropped my ebike off to be super fettled by the man 'imself then off to Rodel and St Clements church where I channelled Fay Godwin for this snap.

When the world was looking at the oil rig that crashed onto the island and then was floated round to the bay nearby where it sat sitting for a few months till they put it on a special boat thing and took to somewhere in the Med to break it up. That time.

Boating

We used to go boating but now the little sailing tub has gone to new owners. This wasn't it but on a hired boat on the Caledonian canal. Lovely

Love this snap of William taken a few years back when he took us for a windy stroll near his home. We still see William and Gemma regularly which is just lovely.

Seem to recal using the old Zorki6 for this, must get the old thing [camera that is] out again.

Spainland; another year

This was the same country. on the north coast - lovely part I must say. It was hot. can you tell?

Ooooof. the Tour of Spainland race has just been happening - and what a great race it was. We went over a couple of times in previous years to catch up with people we knew who were involved the race as riders or DS.

One day we stood here for a while. It wasn't always as quiet as this. Did you see how one hill was in the tdf ? This lot will be at the World cycling champs in Yorkshire soon - perhaps we will find them!

Three cyclists

This may have been 2011 but they all still ride. Mr Gilbert [right] is on the mainland now riding fixed again. Mr Posse [left] is married and will visit again soonish and Eve has a new bike - not just Mr Posse's retro bike to ride.

two wires

Wires are all over the place here. Part of the island-scapes like bins and falling down houses. As such, I am rather pleased when they appear in the snap. This is out South-Lochs way.

Ooof, had a fine evening at an Lanntair last night watching Caught in this moment of time by Ron Coleman. What a great play it was. We didn't know what to expect but it was fantastic. The play, the music and the positive feelings that were throughout the place. Were were all buzzing and am so looking forward to the next two.

I hadn't seen Keith the Viking and his wife Liz for a while but I was so pleased to see them playing sheeps-herders with their Icelandic sheeps on their croft in Lemerway.  I snapped them up again just for the plleasure of doing it.

Since this was meant to be a photoblog I can just remember that the first two snaps were taken on a Minolta 505si with 50mm lens and the last, obviously a masterpiece in a Perkeo with Foma100 film. Oh, I feel better now
