Pushed

This little snap was taken on Hp5 pushed to 800. Typically, the sun shone that day and it was only camera I had with me - an almost sharp Minolta af 50/1.7.
Pushing is not something I usually do since the film i often have available doesn't really like that [Foma400 or Kentmere400] Maybe I should bite the bullet and buy some hp5.

A neighbour in the snow

Was in the darkishroom at home again yesterday after a long sesh in Toots' darkroom the day before. Just a couple of Crofters prints for my keeping. Enjoyable though. I might have to do some more.

The snow has all gone here of course. As a filmster, i'm not always up to date you understand. Obviously I am ahead of my time in reality.

I am probably ill-advised to post this snap since when Eve sees it she will probably never let me take her snap again.

My adviser didn't like this snap either. The central figure was too central. I don't know why he didn't move to the side to be quite honest ! :-)

I seem to have an adviser

The un-named individual quite liked this snap but not the roofs behind the wall nor the branch on the floor. Pity, I do.

The snap came out of the XA camera from cheaper than chips Polypan-f film.

I'm not sure I am ready for an adviser. We'll see how it goes.

The most photographed up poles on the island

Just out the door of our wee housey the poles await a re-photographing up from time to time. I oblige.

Birds over the Lochen

This is my Japanese stylee.

I call this Birds over the Lochen but you can call it for what it is.

I was playing chemigrams in the warm rather than in the cold darkish room. A box of old Bromesko paper by my side, a paint brush, some gloves and a little water-soluble glue.

I have done this before and shall do it again.

In the meantime just getting over being accused of being a Cherry Bakewell tart !!

Around the village on a short and cold stroll

I currently have use of a very fine and small camera of some renown. I couldn't wait so the first day I had it in my grasp I loaded it with Polypan-f and took a short stroll.

Not sure what's happened but when I just went out and back to the darkish room, the ground was white. Outside that is. Not sure I'm ready for another lot.

Twas dreich old day when I took off to Harris with Toots. A few days ago I might add.
I'm not there now. I am elsewhere.

It snowed a bit the other day here. Despite our fairly northern location, it doesn't snow that often. So I snuck out with the Voigtlander Perkeo and some Foma100 and snapped up the bus stop. as I do.

Then I came in and listened to this. Lovely though I know not what it is.

There again

I may well have snapped here before but why not, I like it here and the sheeps were most accommodating that day.

And before you ask what camera it was, what film and so on, I can't remember and to be quite honest, past caring. There, I have said it.

Masha

For some unknown reason to me, this lovely lady of my acquaintance is Masha. Really, she is Maria. Either way she is Russian - and a fine photographist as well as pharmacist and friend of Eve my partner. We also have a Romanian friend - also lovely - who is Moni - short from Monica although I am told her given name is Andrea.

Over the years, as a fully signed up cheapskate I have played with a few lenses acquired for little or in this case - nothing as it was kindly sent to me years ago. Only thing we have not bonded. I really don't think the thing realises that sometimes I do want something in focus and without a cloud of flare. This is the L39 lens that I use on an old Zorki6. I did have one on a Kiev4 that was sharp as a sharp tack and contrasty too- but it fell on the floor which rendered it jammed.

I decided to give this lens a last chance. The 'enth time I have done this. However, despite the less than sunny conditions, the flare was there. Perhaps the focused bits were not too bad as I was stopped down to f5.6 - as was the lens.
