I know I usually post snaps of sailing over at http://freyja-yacht.blogspot.co.uk/ - d*g*tal snaps as well. However, we've just been sailing on holiday. Not proper sailing you understand but sailing on the lovely Norfolk Broads - where a slight slope is considered a hill. We hired a lovely old boat - Zoe which was 120 years old. Well, the keel and the design was 120 years old. The rest of it was a bit like Trigger's broom. Lovely boat though if a little hard work to sail.
Since I had a film camera with me I took the liberty of taking a snap or three. Here's the first three.
Sorry about all the shades of colour. Not sure how it works to be honest.
So quiet and contemplative that sort of sailing - especially on the rivers. Nicely quiet sailing at 1-2knots with only the sounds of water rippling, the mast creaking and some light murdering on the bank as some poor chick meets its maker courtesy of a raptor or something.
Even the long necked white ducks were playing along, keeping their little foals on their backs as we glid by.

This looked a nice place
It was nice. Strolled down here camera in hand looking this way and that and wondering if it's going to take us to a pub. It didn't. But since it looked nice I collected its image in the camera on the foma200 film I was using. I'm glad I did. I'd calmed down a bit from earlier when my dearest Eve fell in the river. I got her out - even before I took a snap of here. Mmm. Was I wrong there?

Is this the futurist?
We went cycling. Eve did anyway. I watched, took a few snaps and the like. Usual mess really so I call it Futurist work. Only thing, if this is the future, I'm outa here.
At least I find I have a use for the Polypan-f film. I might actually get round to sending some to the wonderful photoghraphist Andrew Sanderson with whom I chatted over a cuppa the other day.

Off his brisxit
Totally off his brisxit to be honest.
Cycling event and everything. Sort of a cross between Glastonbury, the 1950s and cycling. Why? Because we can I suppose.
The cycling was great, the meeting of pals too. The rest? Well, the least said the better I think.
Mud; eh?
Mad seeing all those bikes, tandems and trikes posing around the countryside. Not sure about all the dressing up though. What's all that about then?
We are back anyway. Lovely time off island - boating, seeing family, camping, cycling and taking snaps. You might just get to see a few.
Sorry and everything.
Please save me from the whole EU thing. I'm sick of it.

Every year I await in anticipation of this. The daisy tracks on Gress machair in Bac. Lovely trails that come and go every year.
Pity I only had a little point a shoot camera with me. One year I'll be prepared. One year.

An evening stroll
Her Highness Henrietta Cartier-Bresson loves an evening stroll with Eve & I down the road. If the sun is shining and everything. Which isn't very often I can tell you.

we sail too
When the engine starts we take the wee boatee out for a sail - if there's wind. Or if there's not too much wind.
The wind blows the big flappy bits and makes the boat go forward. We turn the engine off. The wind dies. That's how it is.

Grain is good. Isn't it?
I like it.
Here Mr Toots keeps out of the way of the man-eating thing that lurks under the ice-maker. Those sailors like their gin you see !

Know this place?
It could be anywhere. Only it isn't.
I read a blog somewhere that said one should use blogs to say something.
So I will.
Green is the new red.

See this?
I saw it.
Been there before mind but the clouds were different then. And the shade. I was waiting to see dearest Eve pass on the Eroba 1960s bicycle she was riding to Tarbert - training ride for the up and coming ride in The Peak District.
Thank you

A street
Reading outside the library.
It happens inside the library too - but it was closed.
I do use it from time to time but, we are lucky to have a visiting mobile library at home with a nice man manning it to boot. What more can one ask?

I take a little stroll round the village
It may not be Manhattan [thank goodness] but it is where I live.
This was the first bit of the stroll. Or the last bit. Either.

Shops
I'm not an avid shopper to be honest. I hate shopping in the main whatever it's for. I do like this shoppe though - the Good Food Boutique in Stormoway. Great things to eat and lovely staff. The light's great too as you can see.
Great little point and shoot camera I had lurking about my being that I used to take the snap. No idea which one it was though - but it did have a lens.

The rhubarb eater of North Tolsta
She's not the only one you know, I eat the stuff too. We had a local source but the best is obviously from Yorkshire. Martin Parr took some snaps there too. He might like my snaps. He might. If he saw them.

Ooh, I woke up one morning...
the sun was on my mind.....
You get the idea.
Went down the road at the top of the cliff with an old Franka Rolfix and film.
This is what it found

I'm doing my thing
While Toots does his on Gress beach.
Toots likes 'proper' landscapes. I don't as one can see. The sand casts from the worms are far more interesting and in fact have much more intelligent things to say about the EU in out debate than most other beings do. Try it sometime.
